Mzansi Boss Babes Competition Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Mzansi Boss Babes Business Pitch Competition ("Competition"). By entering the Competition, participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility

The Competition is open to women aged 18 and above, residing in South Africa.

Participants must be South African citizens or permanent residents.
-
Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Competition organisers are not eligible to participate.

2. Registration and Donation
-
A donation of R 50 is required to complete registration. The donation contributes directly to the Aunty Betty fundraising initiative.

Registration opens on 6 November 2024, and closes on 5th December 2024.
-
Registration is considered complete only after the donation is paid, and all required information is submitted (including video pitch via WhatsApp).

3. Video Pitch Submission
-
Participants must submit a 1-minute video pitch describing their business or business idea and promoting the Aunty Betty fundraising initiative.

Video pitches must not exceed 1 minute in length.

The video submission link (WhatsApp group) will be provided shortly after registration, and participants must upload their video via the Mzansi Boss Babes WhatsApp group.

Videos may not contain any offensive, defamatory, or unlawful content. Any video deemed inappropriate by the Competition organisers will be disqualified.

4. Voting and Promotion
-
Voting will take place via SMS and the official Competition website, running from on 5 November 2024, and closes on 5th December 2024.

Participants are encouraged to promote their videos for voting on social media to gather votes via sms (Mzansibiz yourname+surname to 45633). Each sms costs R1,50.

Only 1 website vote is allowed per email address and sms votes are unlimited.

The Competition organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant found to be engaging in fraudulent voting practices.

5. Prizes
-
The Grand Prize includes R10,000 cash, financial forecast modelling, website services, and a social media branding kit.

Additional prizes may be awarded to runners-up.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.

Winners will be announced on December 9, 2024. All decisions by the competition organisers are final and binding.

6. Use of Content and Promotion
-
By entering, participants grant the Competition organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, share, and promote their video pitch and related information on the Competition website, social media, and other promotional materials.

Participants consent to the use of their name, business name, and video pitch for marketing and publicity purposes related to the Competition without additional compensation.

7. Fundraising for Aunty Betty Initiative

All donations and a portion of the SMS voting revenue will be directed to the Aunty Betty Christmas Campaign.

The Competition organisers will provide regular updates on the amount raised and the progress of the Aunty Betty project, which can be followed via https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/mzansi-aunty-betty-christmas-campaign.

8. Participant Conduct

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner throughout the Competition.

Any participant who engages in offensive, defamatory, or unprofessional behaviour may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Competition organisers.

9. Limitation of Liability
-
The Competitions, sponsors, and partners are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from participation in the Competition or receipt of any prize.

The Competition organisers do not accept responsibility for any technical issues, system failures, or delays that may affect video submissions, voting, or any other aspect of the Competition.

10. Data Privacy

Personal information provided during registration will be used solely for Competition-related purposes and will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

By entering, participants agree to the collection, storage, and processing of their personal data for Competition administration and communication.

11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
-
The Competition organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants via email and whatsapp.

Continued participation in the Competition following any amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

12. Governing Law
-
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from or related to the Competition shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
